Advancing Ethics in Science & Society

For Ethical Research. For Human Dignity.

Championing Integrity in Nigerian Research

The Bioethics Society of Nigeria (BESON) is a national, non-profit, and non-political professional association dedicated to advancing ethical standards in research, healthcare, science, and society. Our membership spans a rich mix of disciplines including medicine, public health, law, nursing, social sciences, engineering, philosophy, and the humanities. We represent both scholars and practitioners who engage deeply with ethical, legal, social, cultural, and philosophical issues arising from healthcare and scientific research in Nigeria. BESON plays a leading role in strengthening ethical governance systems, building capacity for research oversight, and promoting responsible innovation that protects human dignity and public trust. We exist to serve the public interest through education, research, advocacy, policy support, and international collaboration.
